Chole (Chickpea Curry)

Ingredients
- 2 cups chickpeas (soaked overnight)
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 tomatoes (pureed)
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
Steps
- Boil soaked chickpeas until soft.
- Heat oil, add cumin seeds, then sauté onions until golden.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add tomato puree and spices, cook until oil separates.
- Add chickpeas and 1 cup water, simmer for 15 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander and serve with rice or bhature.
